About Ganapathy Pre-University College

Overview

It was a proud moment for the Saraswat Education Society (SES) when it added the Ganapathy Pre-University College to its existing Hampankaṭṭa (Mangaluru) Campus on 2nd July 1972. Offering quality Higher Secondary education in Commerce and Arts and strengthened by the legendary reputation of its parent Institution, the Ganapathy Pre-University College quickly attracted students not only from Mangaluru but also from Kasargoḍ, Manjeshwar and Kanhangaḍ. The College is located in the lush green 2.3-acre campus of the Ganapathy High School (GHS) on GHS Road, which also includes the Ganapathy English Medium School.

An exclusive residential National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp is organised for the students every year which helps them share experiences and broaden their horizons. The NSS unit of the college was declared the best in the state by the Government of Karnataka and encouraged the students to attend the State and National Level Leadership Camps. The College firmly believes that sports helps to build character and the students are encouraged to participate in individual and team sports events at various events both at tāluka and district levels, winning many medals and accolades.

The cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) have represented the college in the prestigious Republic Day parade at New Delhi where they have been awarded the Prime Minister’s Award during the Republic Day Parade.  The cadets from Ganapathy Pre-University College were also invited to attend the prestigious Vayusena Camp in Bangalore few years back.

Sports day, the flag hoisting ceremony on Karnataka Rajyotsava and Independence Day are very special for the students when a storehouse of talent is on display for parents to watch.
